Dry Fly, Nymph and Streamers for Native Trout

Our Home Lake
Our Home Lake holds wild Rainbow Trout and a Rainbow/Cutthroat hybrid. You can catch 20 to 40 fish a day. Our Dry-Fly Fishing is especially hot in the early season (June-July) but good all season long. For larger and more selective Trout Fishing we have our Day Trip Lakes.
How We Fish
When we fish our Home Lake we generally cast from our 25 Foot Flat-Bottomed River Boats. These are stable and comfortable fishing platforms. We anchor our big boats in sheltered bays or other hotspots around the lake. We do alot of cast-to-rise fishing. It's often one-cast-one hit fishing. Another favourite way to fish is to pull anchor and wind drift or slowly paddle our big boats along the shore on the edge of weedbeds and then work the weeds and structure. It's fun casting to structure points (windfallen trees etc.)and we have hooked some of our best Trout this way.

Day Trip Lakes
On Day Trips to nearby Trophy Lakes, we use Canoes, Boats, Float Tubes and cast from shore (Wading). We supply the Float Tubes and Canoes. Bring Your Chest Waders Although you could fish a whole trip at Omineca Lodge, without getting out of the boat, using Chest Waders (nylon or neoprene) allows you enjoy the widest range of angling possibilities (Float Tubing, River Wading, etc.).

River Trips
On River Trips (Adventure River Trip or Special River Fishing Day Trips) we can fish for Dolly Varden, Big Rainbows (up to 12 pounds) and Arctic Grayling. And because our River Trips usually coincide with the return of spawning Salmon, there's always the chance of hooking a Sockeye. These are all wild fish, so catch and release is the rule.

Fish All Day Long
Our guests are welcome to fish all day long. And we do mean long. In the summer it gets light about 4:00am and it doesn't get dark until 10:00pm. We guide you a full day but you're always welcome to take a boat or a canoe (with some initial orientation from us) and fish to your heart's content early or late. And we can promise you this, you will have Elbow Room, you might not see another person all day.
